The Joy of Tax: Our Role in Supporting a Civilised Society

Methodist Tax Justice Network
George Thomas Room

Tax dodging by the wealthiest in society, both individuals and corporations, has been hitting the headlines with alarming regularity over the last few years - but the more this happens, the more campaigners have been fighting back. Why is the struggle for tax justice so important, what have we achieved and what is yet to come, and how can we play our part?

The Methodist Tax Justice Network invites you to this Conference Fringe Event, where we will explore our role as a Church and as individuals in tackling the exploitation of a flawed system by the rich and powerful, and bringing about real changes for the benefit of all. The event will be chaired by former Vice-President of Conference, Ruby Beech, and speakers will include former Chair of the Public Accounts Committee Dame Margaret Hodge MP; renowned tax expert and author of The Joy of Tax, Richard Murphy; Bill Seddon (Chief Executive of the CFB); and Crystal Simeoni of Tax Justice Network Africa.

Light refreshments will be provided.
