Lakeside Suite

Who is my neighbour?will explore Mark 12 from a number of perspectives.

The speakers are: The Revd Dr Inderjit Bhogal OBE, a leading theologian and former President of the Methodist Conference. Inderjit will focus on Welcome, Hospitality and Sanctuary for those in desperate need. He has produced a resource for Churches to engage with this theme, which will be used by CTBI for Racial Justice Sunday 2015.

Dr Anthony Reddie is a tutor in Christian Theology and Coordinator for Community Learning at Bristol Baptist College. Anthony will focus on what the Bible says about love: the Greek Pornea which deals with lust, Phileo, brotherly love and Agape, unconditional love.

Denise Lester, a member of the Law Society Council and the Board of Deputies of British Jews, will look at the question of who is my neighbour from a Jewish perspective in particular focusing on the Holocaust experience.

A buffet will be provided as well as music. This event aims to be an uplifting experience spiritually and culturally, whilst challenging us all to continue to build an inclusive Church.
