1987 to today

The formation of Women's Network in 1987 was more than the joining of Women's Work and Women's Fellowship. Women's Network was now a movement to include all Methodist women, whether they belong to a group or not, and whether they are actively involved in the promotion of Women's Network or not. Women's Network came into existence to encourage, enable and equip women to participate fully in the life of the church and in society - acting as a resource for women and "service station" for the women of Methodism in the UK.

Since its inception, Women's Network has been involved with issues and projects: campaigning, awareness raising, skills training, offering thematic conferences, different styles of worship, ideas for worship, provision of information, fellowship and support, both at local and national levels.  In 1999, it undertook a major "Snaptshot" review of the way forward, involving over 10,000 women. Much of the work since 1999 has its roots in the findings of that review and in the Resolutions passed by the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women at its 2001 Assembly in Loughborough.
