Sea Sunday - 10 July 2011
An opportunity to remember and pray for those who work at sea, and the people who support them. Resources are available from the Mission to Seafarers at http://www.missiontoseafarers.org  If this date is not convenient (e.g. because of the clash with Action for Children Sunday), you can use the worship materials at any other convenient time.

Peacemaking Sunday - 19 September 2010 (18 September in 2011)
For many years, the United Nations has encouraged the observance of September 20 as the International Day of Peace. The World Council of Churches calls on Churches to make this a day of prayer for peace, and to include prayers for peace in their services on the Sunday before or after September 20. In 2009 Back to Church Sunday mobilised around 4,650 churches in the UK to invite their friends to church. As a result over 80,000 extra people attended church on Back to Church Sunday, with a long-term result of around 10,000 people added to the church in one day.

The Revd Dr Martyn Atkins, General Secretary and Secretary of the Methodist Conference endorses Back to Church Sunday and says "the feedback we have received from participating Methodist churches is very positive".
