Could you contribute?
The Methodist Conference set up a group of people to produce a collection of hymns and songs for 2010. The group has members from a variety of backgrounds.
These are our hymns and songs – these are what we sing to give voice to our faith!
The process has already begun.
The New Hymns and Songs section of this website is already carrying new hymns and songs which can be used locally free of charge. There are downloadable PowerPoint files for the words to make them easy to use in services.
This section will be regularly updated with topical and seasonal material. If you write, why not send something in (Word format for words, pdf/midi for music). The address for items for the web-site is andrew.pratt@methodist.org.uk (see conditions for items to be included on the web-site)
In addition, if you write and want your hymns or songs (words and/or music) to be seen for possible inclusion in the collection then send them by email or post to:
singmethodist@aol.com (in Word format or pdf/midi for music) or
113 Kenyon Lane Croft Warrington WA3 7DU, United Kingdom.
We expect the main collection to be published in a variety of forms – paper, electronically etc - and to cover a wide range of content and styles of material.
This will be followed by an annual rolling resource with the intention of keeping the church up to date from then on.
So watch this space and have your say – there is much more to come....
