Public Issues
Methodists care about society and the wider world that we live in. Current affairs and public issues are important areas of work for the Methodist Church. By engaging with politics and society, we live out our calling to love and hope.
Here you can read public policy statements from the Methodist Conference on issues of social justice, learn about current work areas, and how you can get involved in campaigns.

Now Is The Time
Only a decade remains to bring nuclear weapons under control, says PM's advisor on nuclear proliferation and now is the time for nations to commit to a world free of nuclear weapons, say UK Churches. The Churches are voicing these concerns in advance of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference in May 2010. The Churches’ campaign, entitled Now is the Time, is pressing for governments to put all bomb-grade material under international control and commit to making the use and possession of nuclear weapons illegal through a new Nuclear Weapons Convention. You can read more about the campaign called 'Now Is the Time', and sign an online petition expressing support for these aims.
