The Methodist Church of Great Britain | Twelve days 'til Christmas: conversations with God

momentum onlineThe twelve days 'til Christmas: conversations with God

Tim Carter, a local preacher in the Bristol District, has written a series of twelve 'conversations with God' for the final twelve days leading up to Christmas. You might want to use them in your daily personal reflections/prayers during this period.

On the first day of Christmas... I'm beginning to panic

On the second day of Christmas... Well this year, God, I'm not going to eat so much.

On the third day of Christmas... I cycled along the damp streets as the day began to grow dark and looked in at houses not yet having their curtains drawn.

On the fourth day of Christmas... I've realised, God, togday that this whole thing is passing me by too quickly.

On the fifth day of Christmas... I looked across at the sea and considered time.

On the sixth day of Christmas... I wondered to myself, God, why is it that we need the excuse of Christmas to be nice to each other?

On the seventh day of Christmas... I got stuck in the Christmas traffic.

On the eighth day of Christmas... I find myself thinking today, Lord, of those people for whom this Christmas will be an anniversary, perhaps a first anniversary of remembering someone who is no longer here.

On the ninth day of Christmas... Did you design Christmas just for children God?

On the tenth day of Christmas... I think I have got just about everything done now, Lord.

On the eleventh day of Christmas... I give to you

On the twelfth day of Christmas... It's almost over now, God, and I'm reflecting back
