On the first day of Christmas...
I’m beginning to panic God.
Have I got everything remembered? I know there’s a lot to get and prepare for and I’m not sure if I’m going to get it all in time.
Stress, God!
Why is it like this each year? It’s so busy and all at a time when there’s lots of other things to get done at work too. And you want me to put all this aside to think about a baby in a manger?
Come on! That’s not reasonable really. I can’t spend any more time at the moment, I’ve got to get on and do the Christmas things now…
The 'Christmas' things my child? The 'Christmas' things?
Exactly what are these Christmas things you talk of so?
I can’t recall writing Slade’s Merry Christmas Everybody or Cliff’s Mistletoe and Wine. I don’t recall making huge tins of Quality Street.
But look, I’m not stopping you; just remember what all these ‘Christmas’ things are really about.
Our father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
