Who are the Learning and Development Officers in my region?

First, you need to know which region you are in, each region is a combination of a number of districts, and you'll find these details in the Network Regions section. You will then find the contact details of staff members on the page for your particular region.

                    

Where can I find out about events in my region?

These are available in the Events Calendar on the page for your region. A list of Events Across the Connexion includes events from all regions.

                    

I live on the edge of a region and want to know where I can find out what is available in neighbouring regions?

The map that is available on the Network Regions page will allow you to see who are your neighbours. You can then either look at the pages for that particular region or the Events Across the Connexion page, which lists all the events happening across the connexion.

                    

Where do I found out more information about the two Centres that are part of the DMLN?

Cliff College and The Queen's Foundation are the two Centres who are part of the DMLN. Cliff offers are range of programmes, ranging from short courses to doctorates, for lay and ordained, whilst Queen's offers initial ministerial formation for Anglicans, Methodists and other denominations, as well as a range of programmes for lay and ordained. You will find all the information you need and details of the people you need to talk to in the Becoming a Local Preacher section of the website. You might find the Called to Preach? leaflet helpful and there is also a reflection from a local preacher in training that you might find interesting.

                    

Where can I find information about the new pathway for Local Preachers and Worship Leaders?

You will find more information in the Worship: Leading & Preaching section of the website. There are a number of familiarisation sessions taking place across the connexion and these are listed on the Events Around the Connexion page.

Where can I find details about how the Methodist Church trains its ordained ministers?

All those who undertake initial ministerial formation, either as a Deacon or a Presbyter, currently do so through The Queen's Foundation, in Birmingham. You will find details in the Training for Ordained Ministry section of the website and further details on The Queen's Foundation website : www.queens.ac.uk/why/methodist-ordinand

Please make contact with the learning and development officer, with a church and community specialism, in your region and they will be able to give you more information.

'The Well' is the network for Methodist children and youth workers and you will find more details, including how to become part of that network, on the Methodist children and youth website: www.childrenandyouth.org.uk/worker

                    

Where can I find information about the new pathway for pioneers?

You will find more information in A Pathway for Pioneers section of the website. If you want to know what is happening locally then please contact the learning and development officer, with a ministry specialism, in your region and they will be able to give you more information.

                    

I need to complete my safeguarding training and want to know when and where I can do this?

You will find the dates for these events on the Events Calendar for your region. If you want more information please make contact with the learning and development coordinator, in your region, and they will be able to give you more information.

                    

What learning and development opportunities are there for lay employees?

Connecting Disciples is a series of events for lay employees in the Methodist Church. There are a range of regional events, Connecting Disciples local, throughout the year and an annual connexional event, Connecting Disciples, in March each year.
