Pray for the end of religious tension in Sri Lanka

There has been increased tension between religious groups in Sri Lanka, please pray for people there.

Sugankerni Methodist Church was attacked and members assaulted by a group of people during Sunday service last week (16 June). A group of fellow villagers brought sticks, knives and swords. They shouted at the worshippers, warning them to stop the worship and leave the area. Then the building was destroyed, the church worker, Brother Raja, and some church members were injured and admitted to the local hospital and later transferred to Batticaloa hospital for further treatment.

The President of the Methodist Church Sri Lanka tells us, 'The church members are frightened. All are at the church asking us to do something about it. Uphold the affected people in your prayers.'
