Prayer for Kenya

Prayer for victims of the
latest terrorist act in Kenya and for residents of Kenya

Psalm 102 verses 1-2, 12 -17

Psalm102

1Hear my prayer, O Lord,

And let my cry come to You.

Do nothide Your face from me in the day of my trouble;

Incline Your ear to me;

In the day that I call, answer me speedily....

12  But You, O Lord, shall endure forever,

And the remembrance of Yourname to all generations.

13  You will arise and have mercy on Zion;

For the time to favor her,

Yes, the set time, has come.

14  For Your servants take pleasure in her stones,

And show favor to her dust.

15  So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord,

And all the kings of the earth
Your glory.

16  For the Lord shall build up Zion;

He shall appear in His glory.

17  He shall regard the prayer of the destitute,

And shall not despise their
prayer.

Prayer

Lord
we pray for victims of the two bomb blasts in Kenya on Friday 16th May 2014. We pray you console the relatives and friends of the ten people killed as well as heal more than seventy people injured in the market area in Nairobi and those affected in the minivan used for public transportation. Comfort those who mourn, give hope to the hopeless and reassure them of your unfailing love.

We pray for the wisdom, diligence and sensitivity in handling security concerns in
Kenya. Please protect the government officials especially those in the frontline as they seek to make Kenya a peaceful country. We remember Kenyans today as they go about their daily that they will not be overwhelmed by fear but put their trust in the name of the Lord.

It is unfortunate that innocent lives are being destroyed and livelihoods devastated
because of this senseless terrorist attack. Please touch the hearts of the terrorist that they may seek peaceful means to communicate their dissatisfactions.

We join our brothers and sisters in Kenya to cry unto you in time of trouble.
Arise O Lord and have mercy on us, may the unnecessary killings stop and
destruction abated. This we pray in Jesus name. Amen
