The 23rd General Assembly of United Church of Papua New Guinea

"The 23rd General Assembly of United Church of Papua New Guinea  had a slow start due to travel difficulties. On the planned opening day only half the delegates were present and it was only two days later that things really got under way with the outgoing Moderator's address, by which time some had been travelling for five days. In that address Samson Lowa gave considerable time to partnership describing that with MCB as 'growing strong' and highlighting five supporting features: the annual grant, the regular invitation to the British Conference and Pre-Conference Consultation, the time spent by Revd Garo Kilagi in Lancashire District under the World Church in Britain Programme, the Nationals in Mission Appointment (NMA) programme and the SALT Scholarship programme. He concluded, 'I certainly see closer connections with each other in the years ahead.' "
