"For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 (NRSV)

Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. What wonderful names God has!  As we put together the last bulletin of 2012, we have much to thank the God who possesses all these qualities for. The Methodist Church in Britain can thank the Lord for the overseas partners we share God's ministry with and for the privilege of sharing in the global work of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We can also thank God for the opportunity to sow prayerfully and financially into these ministries overseas - and to 'sow' people into them too!

We also have much to continue praying and interceding for, especially for the healing of the nations, that the peace of the Prince of Peace may reign. We can also continue praying for God's justice to be done on earth and for poverty to be eliminated. Let us also continue praying for God's divine intervention and help administrated through the people of God when natural disasters strike, of which there continue to be many.

But we are not a people without hope. This Christmas, let the remembrance of the hope of Jesus Christ fill our hearts with love, peace, joy and faith.

The World Church Relationships team wishes you a very merry Christmas.
