February 2014 Bulletin

Dear friends in mission:

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life."  John 8:12, NRSV

It is amazing what a difference Light can make. During winter it is wondrous how the appearance of the sun can instantly change people's moods for the better. I found the same to be true while putting together this month's bulletin. I was warmed as I read about how Methodist youth are helping to shed light on the plight of Street children in Nicaragua. And again when an NMA Post holder in Nepal highlighted how as Christians, others notice in us a light we often fail to notice ourselves. A little light seemed to ignite within. By the time I had read all the stories that make up this month's edition of the World Church Relationships news Bulletin, things around me seemed just a little bit brighter than before I started.

Jesus says, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life" it is unsurprising therefore, that his light shines forth as we read about the work members of his body are doing all around the world.

Light brings hope as in Portugal, it brings action as in Nicaragua, and it shines forth in difficult situations as in Nepal.  "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

Wishing you light and love,

The World Church Relationships team
