Team takes to the hills to raise money for Home Mission

Two senior members of the Methodist Connexional Team will take to the hills to raise money for the Fund for Home Mission. Co- ordinating Secretaries Anthea Cox and the Revd Jonathan Kerry aim to raise over £2000 by climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon/ Yr Wyddfa - the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales - in three days in June.

Friends will accompany the dynamic duo on the trip, during which they will climb over 3,000m of mountains and drive nearly 500 miles. Says Anthea 'we know that some people have done this all in one day, but we mostly spend our time sitting in meetings, so for us it is a big challenge to do it in three.'

The Fund for Home Mission supports the work of the Church across Great Britain. A fundraising web page has been created so that people can give online www.justgiving.com/jonathanandanthea, and UK taxpayers can also boost the value of their donation by gift aid. 'People already give generously to the Methodist funds,' says Jonathan, 'but we felt it time to try something new and give a little boost. And as well as raising money, it will also increase awareness of what the Fund for Home Mission is about.'
