Methodist youth event selling out fast in record breaking year
29 June 2016
Tickets for the Methodist Children & Youth Assembly,
3Generate, are selling out at record speed, for what is the event's
largest gathering to date.
Tickets for the 8-11 and 11-18 age-stream have almost sold
out, despite more than 100 extra spaces being made available.
700 young people from across the country are expected to attend
this year's Methodist Children & Youth Assembly, 3Generate, an
annual weekend event for young people, this year taking place at
the PGL Liddington near Swindon, 25-27 November.
Youth President Craig Gaffney said: "3Generate is always a
fantastic event. Young people come and contribute to interesting
discussions, have fun with friends new and old, and spend time
exploring their faith. Over the weekend, young people will have the
chance to have their voice heard and make a real, lasting
contribution to the Methodist Church."
Every year, two spaces are reserved for each District of
the Methodist Church to ensure young people from across the country
are able to have their voices heard. Twenty-two of the thirty-one
Methodist Districts are being represented so far, and only thirteen
reserved spaces are left.
For the first time ever, a further fifteen spaces have
been reserved for young people with additional needs, where one to
one support and an integrated programme with tailored activities
will be made available.
Craig added: "By better providing for children and young
people with additional needs, we hope to empower all of the
Church's young people and ensure no voice is left unheard."
