Bible Month Training Days

CYMRU WALES

Saturday 20 January 2018, 10am - 3:30pm

Radyr Methodist Church, Windsor Road, Cardiff CF15 8BP
Speakers include The Revd Canon Dr Trevor Dennis.

Trevor Dennis has long had a passion for exploring the Bible and getting under its skin. One of his favourite books in the entire Bible is Jonah. In his view it's one of the most hilarious, yet one of the most challenging, with a few words thrown in at the end that provide a question of supreme importance for our troubled times. Over the years Trevor has been an Anglican parish priest (very briefly), a school chaplain, and a Canon at a cathedral. But the job he enjoyed most was teaching Old Testament studies at a theological college in Salisbury. He has fifteen books to his name, including six collections of stories and poems written for preaching, a children's/family Bible, The Book of Books, and four books on Old Testament narratives. His very first, Lo and Behold! The Power of Old Testament Storytelling, published by SPCK in 1991, had as its climax a final chapter on (what else?) Jonah. Trevor is retired, married to Caroline, and with four children and eight grandchildren. He chairs the Chester Christian Aid Committee, and considers himself just about half Anglican and half Quaker.
