A weekend planned and shaped by children, young people - and their workers - for children and young people.
A chance to meet up with friends and make new ones - from other Methodist Churches all over the country.
A weekend of conversation, debate, indoor and outdoor activities, games, music, sport, crafts and challenges.
An opportunity to talk about the issues that affect you and really matter to you, the world and the Church - to listen to each other and to God.
Time and space to worship together in a range of creative and imaginative ways.
Your chance to have a say - and vote for the young people who represent you.
But don't just take it from us - here's what you think of 3Generate.
Who is 3Generate for?
If you're aged between 8 and 23, 3Generate is for you!
There are lots of activities and entertainment for you to choose from, largely organised in four separate age streams: 8-11s (school years 4-6), 11-14s (school years 7-9), 14-18s (school years 10-13) and 19-23s.
3Generate 2017 will be from 24 to 26 November at Pontins, Southport - a new LARGER venue!
There will be some other changes this year too...
For the first time, children and young people and their leaders can attend as a group.
Leaders will attend the event for free and only need to cover their travel costs.
The expectation is that each group will bring sufficient leaders to care for their number (each group will have a minimum of two leaders, for larger groups a ratio of one leader to six children/young people aged under 18 will be required, mixed gender groups will need at least one male and one female leader).
We do not expect extra adult leaders, above the number required to satisfy the necessary ratios, to be attending. However we realise that in some circumstances that this may need to be the case and we would encourage extra support to attend where this is required. If your group is made up from smaller groups and you have leaders above the ratio, they may still attend if one or more leaders apply to volunteer. Volunteering may be part or full time so if you have a few leaders who can spare a few hours, please ask them to apply before mid-September. More details about volunteering can be found here.
We understand that some churches may not have sufficient Youth leaders and in some cases none, however we are happy that adults appointed through the safer recruitment process and in possession of a current DBS certificate covering "Regulated Activity" are appointed for the purpose of the event. All adults attending the event will need to have been recruited within their local context via a process of safer recruitment and attend 3Generate with the agreement of their minister or Circuit Superintendent.
When there are only one or two children or young people who are not in a group, we would encourage them to join with others in their circuit or district and attend together. If needed, there will be help available to connect individuals with groups when tickets go on sale after Easter.
Young adults who are beyond school year 13, are welcome to register individually for the event with or without a group at a cost of £110. There will be a support team for 19-23s available during the event.
Young adults aged 19-23, who are attending with their church group as one of the leaders, will be welcome to attend at no charge but will be expected to work with other youth leaders in the care of their group.
Groups will stay in chalets adjacent to their leaders, who will be responsible for their care throughout the event.
Groups will have the opportunity at meal times, if they wish, of eating together in regional groups, enabling leaders, children and young people to connect and make friends with others from their district or region.
Leaders will allocate rooms to their groups in the allocated accommodation blocks.
3Generate is a speak out event for children and young people. It is the Children and Youth Assembly of the Methodist Church (Standing Order 250). This year there will be the usual facilitated sessions attended by the children and young people as well as some joint sessions together with their Leaders. During times when the children and young people are in their facilitated sessions there will be a separate program for leaders.
Woven into the event will be Youth President and Youth Rep elections, a variety of worship opportunities, activities and entertainment.
