Certificate in Family Ministry

22-26 January 2018
Cliff College

Cliff College Short Courses is an expanding programme designed to inspire, equip and train, and to respond to the mission and ministry needs of individuals and churches.

The Certificate in Family Ministry course would be ideal for both practitioners, and those wanting greater knowledge about this area of ministry, and seeking to resource others in the life of the Church.

Designed for family work practitioners within the Church and the community, the Cliff College  certificate in Family Ministry is a week of practical and theoretical input aimed at enabling family workers to reflect on their practice, as well as learn new skills. Subject areas include:

  • Biblical and contemporary reflections on the family
  • The importance of family, and ideals surrounding family
  • The seasons, celebrations and significant moments of family life
  • The role and relationships in family life, and between families and the Church, and the community
  • The well-being, wholeness and health of the family
  • Practical approaches to working with families

Participants gain a Cliff College Certificate by completing one piece of assignment work following the teaching week. Successful students will be invited to the Cliff College graduation ceremony.

This course has already begun to shape family ministry practice across the country as it brings together some of the key threads in this field of mission and ministry. Working with some of the key practitioners and thinkers in this subject, we welcome the opportunity to again work alongside Gail Adcock and other national speakers.

Ian White; Short Courses Programme Leader, Cliff College

This course is an innovative and dynamic response to the changing landscape of family ministry in churches across the UK. It promises to be an invaluable time for all those engaged in ministry with families and gives an opportunity for us to unpack key aspects of our roles and this work.
