Take part in projects funded by Connexional Grants:
Sacred Activists from St Ethelburga's (reserved places for Methodists)
Interfaith Activists: Leadership for turbulent times (responding to the refugee crisis) closing date 30 September 2017.
We are promoting A Rocha's Eco Church programme and encouraging Methodist churches to sign up, this will help with the environmental sustainability question on grant application forms.
The list of Methodist Churches awarded can be found here.
The Connexional Grants Committee (CGC) is staffed entirely by experienced volunteers. Lay and ordained people from different parts of the country and every aspect of Methodist society help to make sure that connexional funds are administered properly and used responsibly. We are always interested in hearing from those who may be interested in serving on the CGC.
CGC members are responsible for evaluating grant applications submitted by email throughout the year. They may, if chosen to chair part of the committee, be required to attend meetings no more than twice a year. Financial management of the funds which the CGC controls, and all accounting, is carried out by members of the Connexional Team.
Collectively the CGC needs to have a good understanding of how the Church works as well as thorough knowledge of specific Church life. Anyone who is interested is encouraged to apply. Applications from those with experience in the following are particularly welcome:
- Cross cultural and inter faith projects
- Governance and scrutiny
- Grant assessment or project management experience
- Mission and Ministry
- World Mission
- Youth and children work
Full induction and training is provided for those who are invited to serve.
