Enrich us with the gifts of your grace, O God, that we may have a greater obedience to your will, a more fervent love for our neighbour and a stronger thirst for the truth of your Word; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

William Tyndale (1494-1536)

Gracious God, we are a pilgrim people,
continually called by you to journey on.
Sometimes that is truly exciting,
at other times extremely daunting.
So we pray:
when the pathway we travel is rough and steep,
   may we know your strengthening presence upholding us;
when the road is smooth and straight,
   may we know you joyfully stepping out with us;
when our direction of travel is uncertain,
   may we know your guiding influence alongside us;
when the road we travel is a lonely one,
   may you give us companions along the way.
We praise you for the journey of life.
May we always have the sense of adventure you give
to those who journey with you,
for you are the beginning and the end
of our journey of faith. Amen.
