Ken Howcroft

Ken Howcroft

Ken Howcroft was designated by the Conference in 2013 to be the President of the 2014 Conference. He is currently a minister of the British Conference of the Methodist Church seconded to the Methodist Church in Italy to look after the English-language Methodist Church in Rome. He is also charged with developing a Methodist Ecumenical Office in Rome as a resource for world Methodism.

Until summer 2011 he was assistant secretary of the British Conference and its ecumenical officer. Prior to that he successively served in a circuit in central London, taught in a theological college, and was responsible for British Methodism's theological education and ministerial formation. His research work has been in New Testament studies, particularly the Gospel of Mark and the use of apocalyptic language.

Ken is married to Marion, and they have two grown up children. His passions are music (particularly singing), theatre (particularly acting and producing), and reading.
