Information on the work and on the artist can be found, together with a relevant Bible passage, in 'A Guide to the Methodist Art Collection' by Roger Wollen and others, published in 2010 by the Trustees of the Collection (ISBN 0-9538135-2-5). In full colour, it is obtainable at £5.00 from Methodist Publishing www.methodistpublishing.org.uk.
The Guide also contains text and colour reproductions of the works in the Collection (by Edward Burra, Eric Gill, Patrick Heron and Georges Rouault) for which a copyright licence has not been granted.
Also available from MPH (at £15) is a 'full' Catalogue of the Collection (ISBN 0-9538135-1-7). For some of the artists, this is the most complete account of their work available anywhere.
Additional information is also to be found in 'A critique of the paintings in the MCCMCA', a lecture given by Francis Hoyland at the opening of an exhibition of the Collection at the Royal West of England Academy, Bristol, January 2003.
