The local church means both the people and the buildings. Worship, fellowship, pastoral care, mission and service are essential features of your local church: Your church may have Pastoral groups, Midweek clubs, junior church, JMA collectors, and Uniformed Groups, Bible Study and prayer groups. Sunday Morning and evening worship, special worship events
Your Challenge: • Find out how many different groups and activities there are at your Church. • What activities are there for children and young people. Who Makes the decisions and decides what goes on? Your MinisterIs in charge of pastoral care and leadership of your church.
Your Church Councilwith the minister has responsibility for the co-ordination of what goes on in your church, they make decisions on the members behalf.
Your Church Stewards support the minister and form part of your church leadership. The Stewards sit on the church council. Committees There maybe other committees and groups that your church has eg: Property committee, church life, Pastoral committee, Youth and children.
Other Leadership roles in your Church. Junior Church / Sunday School / Club Leaders, Youth Club, Midweek club, Uniformed Organisation Leaders, Youth or children's worker, lay worker, worship leader.
Other roles and Jobs Bible readers, Door stewards and welcome team, Tea and refreshment rota, Crèche, Church secretary, Flower stewards, Organist, Music group, choir. Youth Representative, Sunday Club representative.
Your Challenge: • Find out the names of your Church stewards • Ask your Minister if you could be part of a welcome team at church
