Scientific visionary James Lovelock has inspired a generation through his theory of Gaia, which sees the Earth as one living organism. In his latest book, The Revenge of Gaia, he makes a powerful case for science and technology – including nuclear power – as vital to the solution. He will be in conversation with Claire Foster, author of Sharing God’s Planet and Advisor on environmental issues to the Archbishops’ Council.

How can the world develop in ways that are both sustainable and just? Is sustainability necessary for reducing global poverty? This conversation brings together one of the world’s foremost economists with a leading theologian of social justice to explore the moral challenges of sustainability.

St Paul’s Cathedral
Is the drive for economic growth destroying the planet? If so, can we find ways to promote human flourishing that are also environmentally responsible? This panel brings together experts from very different perspectives to do some joined up thinking on how we can live sustainably.
For the above events, admission is free and unticketed. Doors open at 6:00pm. Each event will include questions from the floor to the speakers.
