Susanna Wesley 350 Methodist Heritage Conference 2019

A Bright Succession: after Susanna Wesley, gender, heritage and faith

The Methodist Heritage Conference 2019

12-14 July 2019 at University of Lincoln, Brayford Pool, Lincoln LN6 7TS

In her 350th anniversary year, the conference will explore the legacy of Susanna Wesley today, touching on a range of issues linking gender, heritage and faith.

We welcome as our special guest Professor Charles I Wallace, of Williamette University (USA), international expert on the writings of Susanna Wesley, and editor of Methodist Publishing Susanna Wesley anniversary gift book, From a Mother’s Pen.

We are pleased to welcome as keynote speaker and host for the conference Revd Dr Barbara Glasson, President Designate of the Methodist Conference 2019/2020.

In addition to the historic setting of the ancient city of Lincoln, the conference will include an excursion to Epworth, in the north of the county, for a celebration of Susanna Wesley on the site of her home for nearly 40 years, the Old Rectory. The celebration will include worship in the open air, a garden party (weather permitting!) and book signing of From a Mother’s Pen with the author.

All-inclusive residential rate for full conference £195 per person, in en-suite room (day rates available).
