Announcement regarding the Methodist Conference – 24 June – 1 July 2021

It has been confirmed that the Methodist Conference will take place at the National Conference Centre, Birmingham, from Thursday 24 June to Thursday 1 July. The Conference Office is in the process of arranging hotel accommodation and travel to and from the venue each day for all who have booked to attend. Confirmation emails will be sent in early June.

The Conference Office has made good progress this week and expects to confirm the arrangements for the Conference early next week. We are grateful for the patience and understanding received and are doing all we can to finalise plans as quickly as possible.
The Hilton Birmingham Metropole has informed us that the hotel will remain closed until September, therefore they are no longer able to accommodate the 2021 Methodist Conference. I want to reassure you that colleagues in the Connexional Team are working hard to find alternative conference facilities and accommodation in the Birmingham area.
If a venue can be found, those attending will be given the option to come in person or join online.
While we hope an alternative venue can be found, contingency plans for the Conference to be held online are also in place should it not be possible to find a physical venue.
Our plan is for the ordinations to go ahead as planned in the venues booked and the Ministry Team will be in direct contact with ordinands about arrangements for those services and for the Reception into Full Connexion.
There will be an update by the end of next week (Friday 7th May) and we appreciate your patience, understanding and prayers while arrangements are being finalised.
