Children and young people will get the chance to change and
challenge the church, the world and each other at this year's
3Generate. 3Generate is the Methodist Church's Children's and Youth
Assembly and will take place 16-18 November this year at Whitemoor
Lakes Centre in Lichfield.
Three separate streams cater for a wide age range: 8 to 13 years
old (broadened from last year), 14 to 17 years old, and 18 to 23
years old. Each stream works in a way specially suited to its age
group, with discussion, sharing and worship, bringing our hopes
dreams and reality to God. There will also be opportunities for the
streams to come together for worship and learning throughout the
weekend.
"At the heart of 3Generate is a commitment to helping young
Methodists make a difference in their church, to one another and to
the world," said Methodist Youth President Sam Taylor. "It's an
amazing opportunity to share, learn and worship together, and
hopefully get a glimpse of what God's got in store for us."
Last year's 3Generate saw young people between the ages of 9 and
23 joining in worship, reflection and learning, as well as outdoor
activities and enjoying cutting edge music from the likes of MOBO
award-winning gospel rapper Guvna B.
This year's event is shaping up to be even bigger and better. The
venue is perfect for young people to explore and let their hair
down with a range of facilities including high ropes courses, a zip
wire, fencing and indoor archery, not to mention pristine lakes and
acres of national forest just next door.
And it's not just for children and young people. The Church is
partnering with Cliff College to deliver high quality and
innovative training for children and youth workers. Those bringing
young people can be part of a weekend of training, reflection and
inspiration designed to equip and inspire them in their work.
Tickets cost £80 each, including food, accommodation and all
activities. Young people and their leaders may apply to their
Districts for help with the costs.
