British Methodist headteacher Rev John Barrett, has been
newly-named as vice chairperson of the World Methodist Council. He
is pictured addressing council members during a meeting of the body
in Brighton, England, yesterday.
John Barrett was educated at Newcastle and Cambridge
universities before being trained for the Methodist ministry at
Wesley House, Cambridge. He is currently headmaster of the Leys
School in Cambridge, England.
Former British Methodist Conference vice president Rosemary Wass
has been elected as President of the World Federation of Methodist
and Uniting Church Women. Rosemary (pictured left), who takes on
the post for the next five years, succeeds Rev Khushnud Azariah
Janice Clark, a British Methodist working as a mission partner
in Zimbabwe becomes Secretary of the Federation.
