Methodist Children & Youth Assembly 2011: Book now

The Annual Methodist Children & Youth Assembly, 3Generate, willtake place at the Pioneer Centre, Cleobury Mortimer, in Shropshire4 - 6 November 2011.

3Generate enables the church to hear from children and youngpeople, and for children and young people to hear from each other,have fun, find support, learn from one another and make acontribution to the wider Church. Following consultation, thisyear's event is going to be bigger and better than ever, with threestreams catering for a wider age range: 9 to 13 years olds, 14 to17 years olds, and 18 to 23 years olds.

"3Generate is more than an event," said Jude Levermore, ActingDirector of Children and Youth. "By facilitating three differentage streams, we can ensure that we really focus on what matters toour children and young people. They will have the opportunity toinfluence Church decisions, as well as decide who gets to representthem nationally. And we're going to have a lot of fun too!"

Programme highlights include singer-songwriter and Director of theChristian Socialist Movement Andy Flannagan and Lat Blaylock, awriter and educator with a passion for making RE come alive. Alsoon the bill is Jamie Hill. After touring with bands like Why? andQuench, Jamie is now the Youth and Student Manager at the BibleSociety, enthusing young people with a big vision of what the Biblecan be.

There'll also be cutting edge music from MOBO award-winning gospelrapper Guvna B; one of the leading lights of the next generation ofUK gospel rappers, Tunday; and the unique Leke, with a heart forworship.

Additionally, those bringing young people in the 9 to 13 age-rangecan be part of a weekend of training, reflection and inspirationdesigned to equip and inspire them in their work.

As well as fun, making friendship, worship and learning, the youngpeople attending will get to vote for their new full-time YouthPresident and have their say on future decisions to be made in theMethodist Church. Those over the age of 18 will get the opportunityto develop their leadership skills.

Everyone will also get to use the adventure area, complete withclimbing towers, bouldering walls, high ropes, indoor archery,raft-building, bridge-building and much more.
