Norwich Books and Music to distribute Methodist publications
The Methodist Church is pleased to announce that it has reached
agreement with Norwich Books and Music for the provision of
distribution services for Methodist Publishing resources. This
follows the difficult decision taken earlier this year to close
down the Peterborough office of Methodist Publishing after a review
confirmed that it was no longer a cost-effective operation. The
Methodist Church remains grateful to the staff at Peterborough for
their years of dedicated and loyal service.
Norwich Books and Music, a division of Hymns Ancient & Modern
Ltd, is the country's foremost provider of specialist distribution
services to Christian publishers and Churches. Based in modern
premises in Norwich, the company distributes publications for the
Church of England, the Church of Scotland, Canterbury Press, the
Royal School of Church Music and a number of Christian publishers.
During the review process, Norwich Books and Music emerged as
clearly the best fit for the requirements of Methodist
Publishing.
Methodist Publishing will continue to publish resources for the
Methodist Church, managed by the Publishing and Fundraising team
within the Mission and Advocacy cluster of the Connexional Team at
Methodist Church House. Publications will include all the resources
required by the annual Conference as well as new materials to
support the Discipleship and Ministries Learning Network as it
works to build a discipleship movement shaped for mission and
fulfil the aims of Our Calling.
The transfer of responsibilities is planned to take effect from 15
November 2013. For the time being, orders should still be placed
with Methodist Publishing on the usual telephone number 01733 235
962, email resources@methodistchurch.org.uk,
website www.methodistpublishing.org.uk.
New contact details for Norwich Books and Music will be announced
in October.
