Share the hope of Easter with your community
A new edition of the popular booklet celebrating the Easter story is now available from Methodist Publishing.
The 2015 edition of A Gift of Easter contains new images and quotations from classic Easter hymns, alongside passages of Scripture.
The A6-sized booklet is part of a series aimed at people with little or no church connection. Using Jesus' words from the cross, the 2015 edition of A Gift of Easter focuses on the significance of the crucifixion and the resurrection. Over the course of 16 pages, the reader is taken through the events of Good Friday with the help of images, text and selected verses from the Bible. The friendly content and design, which includes a couple of paintings from the Methodist Art Collection, means that the booklet can be given away on a variety of occasions - from pastoral visits to community events.
Gill Dascombe, Vice-President of the Methodist Conference, said: "Easter is the major festival of the Christian faith, and its hope is our greatest gift to the world. Through the drama of Holy Week, we witness events which touch the deepest parts of the human heart: from fame and celebration to doubt, fear, betrayal, cruelty, injustice and death. Yet all of these are interwoven with the profoundest bonds of love, which ultimately is supreme. The message of Easter is for everyone."
A Gift of Easter costs just £5 for a pack of 50 (plus postage & packing) from Methodist Publishing. A pdf of A Gift of Easter 2015 can be downloaded here. There is also a PowerPoint version here and an e-book download here.
