Remembrance Sunday was particularly poignant this year, as the nation marked 100 years since the end of the First World War, as well as remembering all who have lost their lives in conflict since.
The President stood with faith leaders at the Cenotaph, representing the Methodist Church at that sombre and moving event.
The photos below are taken by Sandy Youngson, who attended the event with Michaela and was privileged to watch from one of the balconies overlooking Whitehall.

On the evening of Remembrance Day, the President and Vice President helped to lead worship at Hinde Street Methodist Church. The Revds Peter Cornick and Val Reid had organised for the stories of church members who had lost their lives in World War 1 to be displayed in the church and this allowed a very thoughtful reflection - focusing not on massive numbers but on the individual lives lost in the conflict.
