Resources to get the new Connexional year off to a good start

Hi Friends

Happy New Connexional Year!

My name is Sanya Strachan and I am the Marketing Executive in the Connexional Team. As we begin our new Methodist Year, I just wanted to highlight some of the useful resources available to us all as we live out our calling to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ, through our discipleship, worship and mission.

Here is your basket of goodies:

The Methodist Prayer Handbook 2021/2022: A Place for All

Use the prayer handbook all year round for your personal devotions, leading prayers at meetings or even for the prayers of intercession during worship. These prayers have been written by the Methodist community and the theme this year is ‘A Place for All’, which relates to the Presidential theme ‘God’s Table: An Invitation for all’ and the Youth President’s theme, ‘God’s Church, a Home for All’.

The Methodist Diary 2022

As a Methodist Local Preacher, I am always noting my preaching appointments in my paper diary (I’m old school like that!). The beauty of the Methodist Diary is that it includes key dates for the Methodist Church calendar and lectionary. It identifies special Sundays and enables day-to-day forward planning. It also packed with essential information for your Connexional year. I have already made a note of our church carol service in my diary! Yes, I mentioned Christmas…in September!

Presidential Year 2021/2022 Prayer Card

As we slowly emerge from the various lockdowns and begin to meet with other people again, we are all called to pray for our President and Vice-President of the Methodist Conference as they travel around the UK. This prayer card highlights the various areas that our presidency would like us to pray for. It also includes a verse from Psalm 107:9. The prayer card is available to download and as a hard copy.

Annual Membership Ticket 2021/2022

I always look forward to receiving my Annual Membership Ticket. It holds me accountable to the things I said I would do as a member of the Methodist Church!

The cover image for this year’s ticket is inspired by the Presidential theme for 2021/2022, ‘God’s Table: An Invitation for all’ and the Methodist Prayer Handbook 2021/2022, ‘A Place for All’. It also includes the bible verse from Psalm 107:9, “…For he satisfies the thirsty, and the hungry he fills with good things...”.

Connexional Year 2021/2022 resources

You can find all your resources for this Connexional Year, as mentioned above, here.

Once again, Happy New Connexional Year to you all.

Every blessing

Sanya
