Film screening explores how we can help others in need - Stamford Methodist Church

Members of the community and local churches attended a screening of director Ken Loach’s I, Daniel Blake, at Stamford Methodist Church earlier this month. The screening was organised as a way to explore how we can help others in need.

The film was well received and ended with a round of applause from the audience.

Attendees were encouraged by the way in which they are already responding to situations that characters, Daniel Blake and Katie, are effected by, but where they sense there is always more to do and offer.

After the film, the audience listened to speakers from a variety of charities including Stamford Job Centre Plus, Citizens Advice Bureau, Christians Against Poverty, Hope into Action, P3, a Christian charity supporting the homeless locally, Stamford Foodbank, Second Helpings and the British Red Cross.

The Revd Andy Fyall said: "Together we can show God’s love in practical ways and make a difference for good."
