Church cafe wins business award - Christchurch, Ilkley
Members of Christchurch, Ilkley, a Methodist and United Reformed Church are celebrating after their cafe won a prestigious business award: the Food and Drink Business of the Year 2018 category at an event organised by Ilkley Business Awards.
Kathryn Emmott, Manager, and Liz Frankland, Assistant Manager, attended the ceremony with Margaret Cook and Judy Dixon who have both been volunteers in the Café since
it was established 31 years ago.
The judges recognised that the cafe is ‘a valued community resource’ and it is known for its friendly, welcoming, safe and supportive environment and for providing opportunities for those with special needs.
The cafe seeks to provide links to the church and to be a place for people to talk and be listened to, as well as serving wholesome, locally sourced/ethical food at competitive prices.
