Coming to the Conference
The 2020 Methodist Conference will take place at Telford International Centre, St Quentin Gate Telford, Shropshire, TF3 4JH. The nearest railway station is Telford Central, a 15-minute walk or short bus or taxi journey away. The nearest airport is Birmingham International, with rail connections from Birmingham International Station.
As well as its 306 representatives and 24 associate members, the Methodist Conference welcomes interested visitors and anyone may attend the open conference sessions, visit the exhibition or attend fringe events. There are very few closed sessions and these are clearly indicated in the agenda.
Visitors do not need a ticket except for the Opening of the Conference on the afternoon of Saturday 27 June and Reception into Full Connexion and Sunday Worship on Sunday 28 June. You will also need a ticket if you wish to attend one of the Ordination services on Sunday afternoon. While we continue to plan in the expectation that the Methodist Conference will take place as normal in June, we have decided not to open ticket booking during the coronavirus outbreak. This decision will be reviewed after Easter when it is hoped that the situation will be clearer. If you would like us to let you know when tickets are available to book, please add your contact details to this list.
Other events in Telford during the Conference weekend
There will be an open-air Tom Jones concert on the afternoon of Sunday 28 June and it is expected that there will be greatly increased demand for accommodation in and around Telford on the nights of Friday 26 - Sunday 28 June. If you are thinking of coming to the Conference as a visitor over the weekend, please book your accommodation early. The Conference is not able to arrange accommodation for anyone other than Confernce representatives and support staff.
