Lunchtime Drop-in Session: What it means to be a Member of the Connexional Council
8 January 2025, 12:30pm to 2pm (Zoom Webinar)
Is God Calling You to be part of Making a Difference?
Would you like to find out about what it takes to serve as a Member of the Connexional Council, the Trustee Body of the Methodist Church?
And what a day in the life looks like for Members of the Connexional Council?
If so, we invite you to sign up for an informal drop-in session (via zoom webinar) led by current Members of the Connexional Council.
You will have the opportunity to hear more about the role of the Connexional Council and its responsibilities in enabling The Methodist Church to fulfil Our Calling to respond to the Gospel of God’s love in Christ and be a growing, inclusive, evangelistic and justice-seeking Church.
Members of the Council will share their experiences and insights into what attracted them to the role, their journey to membership and role expectations. You will be able to ask questions and find out more about the application and nominations process.
What to Expect from the session:
Gain Insight: Learn what it’s like to be part of the Connexional Council, including the key aspects of the role and meaningful connections that are made along the way.
Ask Questions: This is an excellent chance to ask anything about the ways of working of the Connexional Council, and how you could get involved.
Meet Like-Minded Individuals: Whether you’re already volunteering or just exploring new opportunities for discipleship, this session offers a great chance to meet others who share your passion for faith and service.
This session is open to anyone who is a Member or Minister of the Methodist Church in Great Britain.
The Connexional Council is looking for those who are called by God to be members of the Council. Each member of the Council brings their own abilities, knowledge and skills, and we are looking for a variety of experience and expertise. You may have gained these within the Church or beyond, both of which enrich the membership and work of the Council.
