Candidate Support - a programme of sessions to help those entering the candidating process for prebyteral or diaconal ministry in 2021/22:

Introductory Zoom – 10 July 2021 (Zoom)

Residential Weekend – 25-26 September 2021 (Market Harborough Methodist Church)

Support Day 3 – 6 November 2021 (Zoom)

Support Day 4 – 11 December 2021 (Venue TBC)

Support Day 5 – 5 March 2022 (Venue TBC)

North West and Mann

The aim of the group is to provide information relating to the process of candidating and also to provide support through what can be a challenging year.

In each session we review where candidates are up to in terms of the process, especially as this changes during the course of the year. We also briefly share what we have been reading, specifically the recommended books or other things which we think others may find helpful. We refer frequently to the Candidating material and resources and, certainly in the earlier sessions to the requirements of CPD. In each session there is time for questions and discussion which means that sometimes those questions take priority over the set programme.

Southern and Islands Region

In the Southern and Islands region we are running 4 Candidate Support Meetings. The first of these is on the 29th September from 7-9pm, via Zoom. The other meetings will fall in October, November and January (dates TBC). The first three meetings will all take place via Zoom, with the fourth either Zoom for face to face, depending on the current Covid guidance. These meetings will cover all aspects of the candidate’s criteria in order to prepare them for the Circuit, District and Connexional Candidates Committees. There will be a chance to ask questions, gain mutual support and reflect on and articulate their own experience of calling. Yorkshire Plus

CANDIDATES’ SUPPORT GROUP 2020-2021

For anyone considering candidating for presbyteral or diaconal ministry in the Methodist Church. An opportunity to work through this process with others sharing the same journey. The offer of information, practical help, mutual support and theological reflection along the way. We usually meet in the centre of Leeds but due to COVID-19 are currently meeting via Zoom and this is likely to continue – hence dates and times are liable to change.
