ONE Opportunity - Yorkshire West
The ONE Opportunity scheme has been launched in the Yorkshire West Methodist District, providing a new opportunity for local churches and circuits to invest in young people and young adults; to help them grow as disciples and help them find their place in the church.
Up to 13 young people in the District will be offered a salaried position of 3 hours per week (on average) on a one year project that will enhance the life and mission of their church and enable them to work out their discipleship in new ways. The participants will be supported by a district team who are open to explore their own spiritual journey alongside the young people. Each participant is also part of a local church team with a project enabler and a mentor. Alongside their paid hours all the participants attend an induction day and three residential weekends during the year, enabling them to be part of a community of young people learning and reflecting together.
