2020 statistics collection: November update
The 2020 data collection (via the Online Suite of Applications) is now underway. Thank you to the many of you who have already submitted their churches’ membership statistics and updated office holders’ data. A couple of things to look out for:
- PASTORAL CONTACT: As of today, 413 churches (roughly 10% of the total number of churches) do not have a pastoral contact listed; others may be out of date as this information does not automatically link to the annual stationing changes. Please check if your churches show the correct details in Basic Details section in the Church Profile tab.
Lists in spreadsheet format are available on request. I can also help with bulk updating as these tasks tend to be easier to do from my end.
- CLOSED CHURCHES: If a church ceases to meet or changes its status in any other way (by becoming a class or merging with another society), this needs to be reported via the relevant church’s Profile tab (the same tab where the Pastoral Contact information is located).
When you do report such a change of status, please fill in a final statistical record, accounting for the remaining membership at the time by noting them as “transfers out” or “other losses”. The final membership figure of a church that has ceased to meet, become a class or merged – and consequently will not have an individual record on the statistics site any more – should be zero.
Many managing trustees have registered sale projects on the consents site without reporting the corresponding change of status. There are also still pending closures from last year that have not yet submitted their final statistics. The Districts concerned will receive an additional note.
