Celebrating weddings in the Methodist Church

Following the Methodist Conference decision in 2021 local Methodist churches can now choose, if they wish, to hold weddings of same-sex couples.

As wedding season gets into full swing, we are celebrating couples who are getting married in Methodist buildings. Throughout August we’ll meet couples and hear the stories of why it was important for them to get married in a Methodist church or chapel. To follow the stories, Like us on Facebook and Follow us on Instagram, and if you want to find out more about getting married there are details on our website. Also, make sure you tag us in your Methodist wedding photos so we can share that love!

Listen to our special podcast on weddings. We hear from one of the first same sex couples to be married in a Methodist church, we talk to a minister about how to plan for the day and we hear from a couple whose wedding is yet to come.
