The Revd Phillip Poyner has edited this week's hymn suggestions. He writes:

In contrast to the last two weeks’ gospel readings describing Jesus’ rejection in Nazareth and the execution of John the Baptist, the two gospel extracts for today show how the crowds flocked to Jesus at every opportunity. Jesus saw them as “like sheep without a shepherd”, the phrase linking the gospel to Psalm 23, Jeremiah 23 and 2 Samuel 7. The Ephesians passage shows the love of Christ to all.
