Creating space with children

Going beyond the risk assessment and exploring children’s spirituality.

An opportunity to explore ministry and new ways to be with children through gathering with others.

This is an ecumenical initiative working together with The Well Network for Methodist Children, Youth and Family Workers, United Reformed Church, St Albans and Oxford Diocese and Roots for Churches

What is it?  An opportunity to gather with others and explore, learn and reflect together on how ministry with children in both peer and intergenerational settings can nurture the spirituality and faith formation of all involved.  Be part of a community of practice that engages in this together.

Who can take part?  It’s a learning journey for anyone working with and amongst children: church leaders, licensed lay ministers, Messy Church leaders, those in paid or voluntary roles (including toddler groups), Sunday group/children’s work leaders, helpers and parents/carers, young/junior leaders, those in uniformed organisations.

When does it take place? Saturday 13 February 2021 and Tuesday 27 April 2021.

How do I get involved?

Creating Space...

…to listen to God, children, to each other

Saturday 13 February 2021 9am - 11am

Join us for this bring– your- own brunch event!  During our next community of practice session as we consider what we are hearing from children about their current experiences and how we can respond within the context of our ministry.  As always there will be a varied programme of worship, input, time for conversation in small groups and reflection.  Everyone working with children in whatever role is welcome.

We are collecting practice ideas to share.  If you have some ministry stories or ways of working you have tried during the pandemic that you are happy to share with others please email:  childrenandyouth@methodistchurch.org.uk
