Circuit and Church Review and Visioning
Helping Circuits and Churches to review their life and to reimagine the shape of mission and ministry in their local context.
Circuit and Church Steward Training
Our new handbook offers four modules exploring the role and calling, being distinctly Methodist, positive working together and moving forward as a community of practice. We have three training days planned, one for each District.
Growing through Conflict
Explore how conflict escalates in a church context and begin to explore some tools of how to deal with conflict in a positive way.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Toolkit
Using the EDI Toolkit to explore a variety of themes designed to support the Discipleship and Mission of the Methodist Church and to enable the local church to be a more inclusive environment.
Inclusive and Creative approaches to Worship
Facilitated training encouraging churches to consider how they might ensure all are able to participate in worship. We are working with Sally Spencer in Huddersfield and offering a variety of worship workshops.
Encouraging people to have confidence in sharing their faith in ways appropriate to their context.
Enabling Circuits churches to explore a variety of discipleship resources appropriate to their context.
Regular Learning and Development Opportunities
Mission Shaped Ministry
Mission shaped ministry is a one-year, part-time course which takes people on a learning journey as part of a supportive community, training them to be more missional in their local context and equip them for ministry in fresh expressions of church.
Working in partnership with the District Safeguarding Officers, we provide training the trainers for Foundation and Leadership module training across the Region.
Each year we offer two retreats which all Presbyters, Deacons and Lay Employees are able to attend.
Worship: Leading and Preaching
We provide ongoing support and training for tutors and mentors.
Youth and Children's Ministry and Participation
Developing the ONE Opportunity Programme across the Region, training and resourcing days for Children, Youth and Family Workers, offering the Unique training for people working with vulnerable or at risk young people, the Joined Up Conference in Sheffield and Big Night Out at Lightwater Valley.
A day in Jnauary for those exploring Candidating for ordained ministry.
Training for those who line manage lay employees as well as offering Lay employee Orientation.
Pioneering Pathways offers a Community of Practice in the Region for those engaged in Pioneer Ministry and a framework of learning opportunities and coaching support.
Prayer and Spirituality
We offer a variety of workshops on Prayer including praying with Julian of Norwich, Walking the Labyrinth and support the Encounter programme in the Region.
