"Going to 3Generate is like having an energy boost! To see so many Methodist young people in one place is just amazing."
3Generate is the Children and Youth Assembly of the Methodist Church in Britain. It is an action-packed and inspiring weekend for hearing the voice of children and young people across the Methodist Church, focussing on fun, faith and friends.
It is a milestone event in the spiritual lives of many young people and we recognise that it can only happen thanks to the support of so many committed volunteers. This year we need about 250 volunteers to run the event smoothly.
The event is taking place from 7pm on Friday 22 November until 2pm on Sunday 24 November at Pontins in Southport. We need most volunteers to arrive by lunchtime on Friday 22 November.
We’re excited to announce that volunteer applications for 3Generate 2019 are open.
If you volunteered in 2018, the application process is different and you should have an email about that so please email us for application details if you haven’t received it email@example.com.
We recognise that our volunteers are the best ambassadors for volunteering, so if you’ve volunteered before, why not consider involving someone else from your church?

Please mark Saturday 28 September in your diaries as that will be the Team Building Day for all volunteers (returning and new) to attend in preparation of 3Generate. This day will happen at Cliff College in Derbyshire.
Volunteer teams consist of 3 main categories:
- Venue/programme teams who work within each of the venues to help children and young people engage with the 3Generate programme.
- Care teams who are focussed on supporting participants and sometimes their leaders.
- Operational teams include customer service roles such as reception and also practical roles such as the set-up and take-down volunteers.

Operational Team Role Descriptions
As our volunteers are working at an event for children and young people, everyone is subject to our comprehensive safer recruitment process. Usually volunteers will be from the Methodist Church in the UK.
The process involves 2 references (including one from your Methodist minister), you will need a UK DBS check which is less than 5 years’ old and applicants may also need an interview (usually by telephone).
In addition to the event weekend, there will be a Team Building Day on Saturday 28 September (from 11am until 3pm) at Cliff College, Derbyshire for all volunteers to attend. For those traveling from afar, there will be a very limited number of rooms available at Cliff College on the Friday evening. Lunch and refreshments are included at the Team Building Day with reasonable travel expenses reimbursed.
Reasonable UK travel expenses will be covered for both the Team Building Day and for 3Generate itself.
Please reach out to us if there are any questions. We’re looking forward to hearing from you – email@example.com
