Develop transformational leadership

Great change requires great leaders. Great leaders are transformational: they long to see their churches and communities flourish and start to look more like the kingdom of God. They can see beyond all the demands of 'right now' in order to see God's kingdom come. Transformational leadership is about healthy, Christ-shaped use of power and influence in Christian communities to welcome in God’s preferred future.

This transformational leadership pathway introduces six core practices that are essential to seeing transformation in local Methodist churches. They are presented in a numbered list here for the sake of simplicity but, in reality, the practices overlap and merge, with some requiring continual practice.

What are the six core practices of transformational leadership?

In order to lead transformation and better develop transformational leadership, the Methodist Church offers the Transformational leadership learning community (TLLC). The TLLC is about helping you change, your church or circuit change, and enabling the wider world change for the better.
