Below we share two prayers for World Cancer Awareness Day, Wednesday 4th February 2026
Lord Jesus Christ,
We join our hearts to Your heart today as we consider the impact on each and every person across the world who has cancer.
As we acknowledge the mix of shock, fear, sadness, anxiety and the stress of coming to terms with their ongoing situation, help us to pray wholeheartedly that our earnest thoughts, prayers and positive energy are sensed by all through Your Powerful Name.
We pray too for every close family member and for their friends. Help them to know with certainty that You are aware of their every emotion and that You long for all to seek and keep seeking comfort, peace and strength from Your everlasting loving and caring embrace.
We give thanks to You, Lord Jesus, and ask Your blessing on each surgeon, doctor, nurse and carer.
We pray that as the family of Christ we will be faithful in prayer with every gesture, look and word to show support and encouragement with comforting and sensitive caring love as opportunity is gifted to us in the days ahead.
In Your Name.
Amen.
Gracious and loving God,
We come before You on this World Cancer Awareness Day, trusting in Your unfailing mercy and steadfast love.
We lift to You all who are living with cancer—those newly diagnosed, those in treatment, those in remission, and those nearing the end of their earthly journey.
Surround them with Your peace, strengthen them with Your presence, and remind them that nothing can separate them from Your love.
We pray for families, friends, and caregivers who walk this difficult road alongside their loved ones.
Grant them patience, courage, and comfort when the days are long and the nights are hard. Uphold them with hope when tiredness and fear take hold.
Bless doctors, nurses, researchers, and all who work to bring healing and care. Guide their hands, renew their spirits, and deepen their compassion.
As people called to live out our faith through love, help us to be a community of prayer, support, and action—bearing one another’s burdens and sharing signs of Your grace.
Through Jesus Christ, our healer and hope.
Amen.
