Bible Studies
We hope you find our 'Word in Time' Bible studies support you in recognising God in Scripture, and the world around you.
Each week’s studies are written by volunteers across the Connexion (you can read the author’s biography after each study). They follow the lectionary of the Methodist Prayer Handbook. You may additionally be interested in our Prayer of the Day, also from the Methodist Prayer Handbook.

This week's theme: Wisdom and Mystery
"Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it." (v. 15)
Then Job answered: “Today also my complaint is bitter; his hand is heavy despite my groaning." (vs 1-2)
“But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?" (v. 12)
And he said to humankind, "Truly, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding." (v. 28)
Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind. (v. 1)
"Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades? Can you hunt the prey for the lion or satisfy the appetite of the young lions?" (vs 31, 39)
"Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?... Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand... I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you; therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes." (vs 3, 5, 6)
