MHA to remember residents and staff who have died in recent months
A service will be broadcast on YouTube starting at 10.45am and MHA is asking people to watch this and join in a two minute silence at 11am.
Chief Executive of MHA, Sam Monaghan, said: “In addition to the online service, Chaplains will be in all our homes leading acts of remembrance and lighting special candles to remember those who have been lost. We have also sent a candle to the Secretary of Conference, Jonathan Hustler and the President, Richard Teal to use in their prayers.”
Richard Teal, President of the Methodist Conference, said: “I have recently spent some time with a number of the Chaplains of MHA. I was humbled to hear how they have ministered to staff, families and residents in new creative and loving ways. I encourage members of the Methodist Church to support a national memorial day for people who have died during the pandemic.”
Sam Monaghan spoke to the Methodist Podcast about how the staff at MHA are working to support residents and their families to spent time together and on the ways that the organisation is supporting staff who have experienced trauma living and working through the pandemic.
